Platform Structure

You’ve now learned how to create and manage platforms in Wwise and set platform specific settings or simply exclude elements from platforms with lower performance. There are no definitive ways of managing your platform structure, but good practice is to discuss with your development team what platforms you’re designing for. When you’ve agreed on a list of platforms, you’ll be able to account for it throughout development, and hopefully won’t have to exclude features near project completion because they’re simply too heavy on a target platform.

Even though excluding, trimming, and reducing concurrent layers have been presented as tools for platform management, all of these methods are useful with only a single platform. Use them to tailor your Wwise project for your game requirements, and keep a critical mindset as to whether or not you really need those extra details.
