Module 14: Working with Effects

In earlier modules, pitch and filter properties are used to modify sounds. In this module, you'll add Effects to your toolbox, offering a world of possibilities, including reverbs, dynamic processors, equalization, and delays.

In the game Cube, teleporters let the Wwizard magically move from one location to another. You'll start with a project that already has a teleport sound that plays during that brief journey. However, the sound is a bit short in duration, so you'll use the Delay Effect to lengthen it.

Then you'll use the RoomVerb Effect to add reverberation to any sounds occurring in the narrow corridors of Cube, enhancing the player's sense of immersion.

By completing this module, you'll gain the following skills:

  • Overriding a parent Effect

  • Creating Auxiliary Busses

  • Configuring Auxiliary Sends
