Naming Needs

Since the composer will likely be delivering hundreds of assets, it’s important to agree upon a naming scheme that makes each element immediately identifiable and includes necessary information for integration. You’ll see in the marker track that each musical section has a name that includes some very specific information. In the case of the Wwise-201 Cube music, the name always starts by identifying the major musical section, a subsection with additional information that includes tempo, time signature, length, and even information that indicates if there is pre-entry or post-exit material. Pre-entry material would be a pick note or swell leading into the first beat of a music section, while post-exit usually represents time after the musical end of the section that is necessary to capture the sound of room ambience or instruments’ natural decay.
