Profiling Session

While you can spend time analyzing the captured data right away, there might come a point where you simply need to save the information in the Profiler and resume what you’re working on later. You might also want to send the data to a colleague, who can then assist you with a problem or help you understand the issue. In such case, you can save your Profiling Session into a single file and load it again later or send it to someone else. By default, Profiling Sessions will be located in the Wwise Project folder.

In the following steps, you will be asked to manually save a Profiler Session, and load it again.

  1. In the Profiler’s Capture Log, press Save Log.

You will now be able to either save a TXT file, which is the list of data in the Capture Log, or save a PROF file, which can be loaded in Wwise at a later time.

  2. Rename the file something unique and press Save.

Now that you’ve saved the file, you can always open it and resume your investigations.

  3. In the Toolbar, click Remote.

  4. In the Remote Connections dialog, select Connect to File.

  5. Find the uniquely named file you just saved and press Open.

The Profiling Session is now loaded in the Profiler, and every bit of information is shown, just as if you had just connected to a game.
