Installing and using GME in Wwise Authoring

Install the GME In-Game Voice Chat plug-in through the Audiokinetic Launcher. This adds the following to Wwise, and you must add them to your project:

  • Tencent GME Receive plug-in: A Wwise source plug-in. Its main function is to receive the voice chats from the same room from the GME server. Refer to Configuring Voice Chat to Receive Audio

  • Tencent GME Source plug-in: A Wwise source plug-in. Its main function is to record the player’s voice and preprocess the captured signals.

  • Tencent GME Session plug-in: A Wwise Audio Device Effect plug-in inserted on the System Audio Device. Its main function is to observe the audio routed to the Audio Device for echo cancellation and to set server authentication information. Refer to Setting up the Tencent GME Session Plug-in

  • Tencent GME Send plug-in: A Wwise Effect plug-in. Its main function is to send local recorded voice to the GME server. Refer to Configuring Voice Chat to Send Audio

For projects developed with Unity or Unreal Engine, refer to Unity Integration or Unreal Engine Integration for the additional steps required to run GME in your project.
