Installing Wwise and Component Packages

This section describes how to install Wwise and its component packages through the Launcher.

[Note] Install all dependencies

Crashes can occur due to one or more missing dependencies when you install Wwise without the Launcher. The required dependencies are detailed in the following rows of the Wwise System Requirements table in the Wwise Help: Microsoft .NET Framework, Microsoft DirectX, and Microsoft Visual Studio Redistributable. We recommend that you use the Launcher to install the Authoring tool to ensure that the dependencies are installed at the same time.

There are two primary installation methods:

  • Use an offline installer. This method, described in the Working with Offline Installers section, is the easiest and most common way to install Wwise and ensures that everyone on a team of developers or designers has the same version and setup.

  • Use the Audiokinetic Launcher. This method, described in the procedures in this section, offers more installation options than an offline installer and might be more appropriate for project administrators.

If you are authorized to develop on multiple platforms, contact Sales to change your profile so that you can download and install the new platform files.
