Using Offline Files to Install Unity or Unreal Integrations

You can use offline files to integrate Wwise into your Unity or Unreal Engine projects, or to modify or upgrade them.

[Note]Note

For Unreal Engine: The following procedure integrates Wwise into an Unreal Engine project as a game plug-in. If you are an expert user, you might want to refer to the Installation section of the Wwise Unreal Integration documentation.

Prerequisites:

  • Install the Unity Editor or the Unreal Engine and create a Unity or Unreal Engine project.

  • Install the version of Wwise you want to integrate into your Unity or Unreal Engine project (refer to Installing Wwise through the Launcher). During the installation, make sure you select the following:

    • Under Packages, select Authoring and SDK (C++).

    • Under Deployment Platforms, select all platforms supported by the Unity Editor or the Unreal Engine installation used to create your Unity or Unreal Engine project.

    • On the CHOOSE PLUG-INS page, select all Wwise plug-ins you would like to use in your Wwise Integration. Note, you can add more plug-ins to the Integration later (see Adding Plug-ins to Unity and Unreal Integrations), but installing them before integrating Wwise into your project saves you the additional steps.)

To download the integration files:

  1. In the Launcher, select the Unity or Unreal Engine page.

  2. From the RECENT UNITY PROJECTS or RECENT UNREAL ENGINE PROJECTS menu, click Download offline integration files.

The DOWNLOAD INTEGRATION FILES page opens.

  3. At the top of the page, select the Wwise Unity or Unreal Integration version. The version number starts with the associated Wwise version number.

  4. For Unity: Specify the Packages and Deployment Platforms for this project.

  5. Specify an empty directory in which to save the offline integration files.

  6. Click Download.

The Launcher returns to the Unity or Unreal Engine page, where you can view the download progress.

To install offline integration files:

  1. From the Unity or Unreal Engine page, click Integrate Using Offline Files from the first menu of your Unity or Unreal Engine project.

A Windows Explorer or Mac Finder opens.

  2. Browse to the folder that contains the offline integration files and click Select.

An integration page opens. The following information is automatically provided by the files and cannot be edited:

    • The Wwise Unity or Unreal Integration version

    • The required Deployment Platforms for Unity (you can remove the optional platforms)

    • The offline files directory

  3. For details on populating the other fields and options on the page and to complete the integration, refer to Integrating Wwise into a Unity Project or Integrating Wwise into an Unreal Engine Project.
