Adding Sound

While the first step to designing a great soundscape in a game is to achieve a collection of well-produced sounds, the second and just as important step, is a thorough and solid implementation. Generally, that role has been assigned to someone other than the Sound Designer, but with packages like the Wwise Unity Integration, you can implement most of the sounds yourself, without the assistance of anyone else.

[Note]
  • Before engaging the lessons, make sure you have Wwise, Visual Studio or MonoDevelop, and Unity installed, along with the course material, namely the Wwise_301 Wwise Project and the WwiseAdventureGameSource Unity Project. If any of these are not installed, please refer to Lesson 0.

  • Although critical content has been updated to reflect major changes in Wwise, some images might still show the 2019.1 version. These minor discrepancies won't affect your understanding of Wwise features and usability. In the near future, all visual elements will be up to date.
