The REAPER extensions listed in this section are not essential, but we do recommend them because they add significant flexibility to REAPER and are useful when using Strata.
ReaPack is a package manager for REAPER. With it installed, REAPER extensions like SWS and ReaWwise can be installed, managed, and updated automatically.
Download the appropriate version for your operating system from REAPER Package Manager.
For installation instructions and other information, refer to the Package Manager User Guide.
The SWS Extension adds a variety of features to REAPER, such as Color Utilities. Strata uses a set of 16 custom colors methodically throughout all of the collections. To see these colors, you must install the SWS Extension and load the custom color set, which is downloaded the first time you download a Strata collection. The custom colors aid navigation and ensure that information is displayed consistently. They were chosen with accessibility for colorblind persons in mind.
Sound design workflows are also enhanced by other features of the extension, such as snapshots. For more information, refer to REAPER Plus! The Power of SWS Extensions.
For the best possible Strata experience, we strongly recommend you install the extension and load the custom color set.
To install the extension and load the custom color set:
Download and install the appropriate version of SWS Extension for your Operating system from SWS Extension.
In REAPER, open a project.
Right-click a track, and in the shortcut menu click Track color > SWS track color > Show color management.
The SWS Color Management window opens.
Click Load color set from file.
Browse to the Strata <installation path>\Documentation directory to locate the
.SWSColorfiles, which were downloaded the first time you downloaded a collection.Note that the installation path is defined in the Launcher at the top of the Strata page.
Select the
.SWSColorfile relevant to your operating system and click Open.The colors are assigned to the 16 custom color slots.

While the SWS Extension is not essential, if you choose not to install it, a "Project Load Warning" message is displayed each time you open a Strata project in REAPER. To avoid seeing this message without installing the extension, you must open each of your Strata projects one by one, dismiss the warning, and then save and reopen the project. |
With the ReaWwise extension, you can transfer audio files from REAPER into Wwise projects. The transfer process creates Wwise objects in manually defined hierarchies so that Wwise users can start working with the imported sounds immediately.
