Source Files Tab

The Source Files tab of the File Manager displays information about the media files that are included in the Originals folder of your project. From within the File Manager, you can determine the status and owner of media files, as well as which files are read-only.

You can also move or delete the source files you no longer need directly from within the File Manager. If, however, you are using a source control plug-in, an additional set of commands, such as Submit Changes and Check out, will be available by right-clicking a file from the list. The specific commands that will be displayed will depend on which source control system you are using with Wwise.

Interface Element

Description

Sources Folder

The location or path of the folder in which the original source media files are saved.

Opens a search field where standard alphanumeric entries filter out unmatching elements from the view. Learn more in Using Tables.

Click the Close icon to the left of the search icon to close the search field and remove the filter.

[Note] Note

The searches do not include elements in collapsed nodes of the List View, Query Editor, MIDI Keymap Editor, and Reference View.

Click the Configure Columns... shortcut (right-click) option from the column header band.

The Configure Columns Dialog opens. Specify which columns to display and their order.

File

The name of the files or folders.

Status

The status of the source media file, for example, edit or add. The status of the file comes from your source control software via the Wwise source control plug-in.

For example, if you are using the Perforce plug-in, your files can be in any one of the following statuses:

  • Add - The file is in the changelist and ready to be checked in to the depot.

  • Branch - A copy of an existing depot file has been added to the changelist and is ready to be checked in to the depot.

  • Delete - The file is in the changelist and is ready to be deleted from the depot.

  • Edit - A working copy of the depot file is checked out to your workspace for editing.

  • Local only - A file has been created locally and has not yet been checked in to the depot.

  • Lock - The depot file is locked so that no other user can check out the file for editing.

  • Normal - The file is checked in to the depot.

If the status of the file is unknown, a hyphen (-) is displayed.

Owner

The owner of the file.

If the owner of the file is unknown, a hyphen (-) is displayed.

Read-Only

Displays whether the file is read-only.

Usage

Displays whether the source file is being used by one or more audio/motion sources in your project. Audio sources can have any of the following usages:

  • In use - Source files are associated with an audio source within the project.

  • Not used - Sources files are no longer associated with an audio source in the project.

  • Unknown - Wwise is unable to distinguish between files that are not being used and those that have been unloaded from the project. This usage status only appears when Work Units have been unloaded from your project.

The information displayed in the Usage column takes into consideration all operations that exist in the Undo list, including file import and delete objects. As a result, the information may not appear to be completely up to date. Before deleting any files that are marked “Not used”, it is a good practice to close and re-open the project to make sure the information is completely up to date.

Copies the contents of the dialog box to the Windows clipboard so that you can paste the information into a new file.

Closes the File Manager.
