Opus Parameters

The standard Opus Encoder is supported on all platforms, contrary to the OpusNX version. The parameters are similar, as the inner algorithm is the same. These are described below:

Interface Element

Description

Bitrate/quality

This slider specifies the bitrate in kilo bits per second (kbit/s) for a single Opus channel. The higher the bitrate, the better the sound quality.

Frame Size

The frame length for Opus packets, in ms. Smaller gives lower latency, but worse compression and worse quality. Range is 2.5 to 60 ms. It is not recommended to use 2.5 ms except for very specific cases as it affects the quality a lot.
