Performance Changes

  • WG-55919 Updated rpmalloc to version 1.4.3. This update includes improvements to total memory reservation sizes for long-running processes.
  • WG-56533 Improved the performance of Global scope RTPC-driven Switch Containers.

Miscellaneous Changes

  • WG-56430 Changed the default minimum and maximum ranges for various values in the Performance Monitor to improve the display of contents from an average project.
  • WG-57325 Removed support for Unreal Engine 4.25. The minimum version is now 4.26.

Bug Fixes

  • WG-48627 Fixed: Possible crash when renaming a Work Unit in a project that's under source control.
  • WG-53891 Fixed: Compilation errors when building themes.
  • WG-55883 Fixed: Media not converted correctly after using the File Manager to move the source.
  • WG-55889 Fixed: Possible crash when switching layout while profiling.
  • WG-55922 Fixed: WwiseConsole generate-soundbank operation doesn't support –output, –source-file, or –source-by-platform options.
  • WG-56184 Fixed: Inspecting certain objects causes a Music Track to do a "Change End Position" operation.
  • WG-56307 Fixed: Possible crash when using a color selector.
  • WG-56377 Fixed: File package entries are stored with a 32-bit sector StreamMgrModule.h::AkFileDesc::uSector.
  • WG-56423 Fixed: (Spatial Audio) Portal returns an aperture of 100%, and therefore has no effect on the spread value when the listener is in the exact center of the portal.
  • WG-56487 Fixed: Music Transitions list expand/collapse setting and scroll position are lost when switching between objects or adding transitions.
  • WG-56508 Fixed: Opus streams starve when zero-latency sounds play.
  • WG-56625 Fixed: AK::SoundEngine::WakeupFromSuspend call has no effect when transitioning from Suspend to Active state.
  • WG-56729 Fixed: Crash when a Blend Container in Continuous mode has an RTPC on the Limit Instances property and its bank is unloaded while the container is playing.
  • WG-56879 Fixed: (wp.py) The generate-bundle action produces identical values for the "name" field of Authoring entries with different configurations.
  • WG-56973 Fixed: Hang when terminating SoundEngine during offline rendering.
  • WG-57026 Fixed: Incorrect Z value returned by AK::IAkMixerInputContext::GetPannerPosition.
  • WG-57069 Fixed: tasks.json incorrectly formatted in wp.py scaffoldings.
  • WG-57253 Fixed: ID shown instead of stream name in Streams tab of Advanced Profiler.

Fixes for Community-Reported Bugs

  • WG-54889 Fixed: WAAPI does not properly support WebSocket fragments (RPC calls with large payloads fail in Python).
  • WG-55303 Fixed: Poor performance in Listener-Relative Routing on busses with height channels.
  • WG-55786 Fixed: Crash when using AK::SoundEngine::RegisterBusMeteringCallback.
  • WG-55808 Fixed: Crash when changing the Game Parameter that controls a property on a Modulator LFO while the sound is playing.
  • WG-56351 Fixed: Crash in CAkRTPCMgr::AkRTPCSubscription::PushUpdate when Blend Containers are driven by Modulators with properties controlled by RTPCs.
  • WG-56429 Fixed: (Spatial Audio) The transmission loss value for the listener's room is ignored on the direct transmission path for room tones and reverb if there are one or more rooms between the listener and the source.
  • WG-56562 Fixed: WAAPI calls are processed at a very slow rate during the SoundBank pre-generation and post-generation steps.
  • WG-56645 Fixed: XMA crash on GDK when recovering from an earlier decode error.
  • WG-56664 Fixed: Assert and crash when parameters are driven by MIDI Velocity.
  • WG-56680 Fixed: Performance degradation when many Switch Containers are loaded and when the values of RTPC-driven Switches change.
  • WG-56717 Fixed: Possible erroneous assert in function CAkParameterTarget::SetRootNode.
  • WG-56794 Fixed: Crash when entering a portal.
  • WG-56865 Fixed: Crash when profiling an Audio Device Effect such as the Mastering Suite.
  • WG-57117 Fixed: (Spatial Audio) When a Portal connects two rooms, Game Objects are sometimes reported as being in the wrong room.
  • WG-57204 Fixed: Crash when using XMA and unloading banks through memory pointers at the same time, instead of using the bank ID or file name.
