Using the Project Explorer search
The Project Explorer Search is located at the top of the Project Explorer view. You can use it to find and focus on specific objects within any of the tabs of the Project Explorer. It is particularly useful for large projects with many objects.
The results of the search are displayed. Search matches are evaluated according to the same rules applied in the Search tool.
The following figure shows example results with the word "foot" typed in the search field:

The Project Explorer Search supports WAQL queries; however, some WAQL features are not applicable to this search. For example, the keywords orderby, reverse, and distinct don't have any effect on how the results are presented. The Project Explorer always presents results ordered by name and never presents duplicate results. Additionally, the Project Explorer only presents objects for the types it supports; some object types are never shown in the Project Explorer. For example, Event Actions are not shown, only the Events themselves. |
Press the Refresh button, , to run the search again considering the current state of all parameters in Wwise. Any branches that were expanded or collapsed since the search was last run return to their searched state of expansion. Note that the search results are automatically refreshed when you change an object's parent or when you create, rename, or delete objects, but not in response to other parameter changes, such as a volume change that might affect a WAQL query that evaluates volume. The Refresh button is particularly useful in these cases.
To reset the search, click the x at the far-right of the search field. This clears all content in the search field and all results in the Project Explorer. In general, when you reset a search, each hierarchy in the Project Explorer returns to its previous state of expansion. However, any objects that are selected at the moment of closing remain visible (that is, their hierarchies remain expanded).
Searches and Selection Channels
Searches are associated with the current Selection Channel. This means you can simultaneously have a different search active in each of the Selection Channels. All active searches are saved when you close a project and are active when you reopen it.
Press Ctrl+F anywhere in Wwise to move the keyboard focus to the Project Explorer Search field. If the Project Explorer view isn't open, it opens in a new window.
Using the Keyboard Shortcuts and Custom Commands dialog, you can map the View > Project Explorer > Reset Search command to a keyboard shortcut. This command has the same effect as clicking the x in the search field.
