Wwise Launcher fails to integrate Wwise into Unity project

0 votes

Hello,

I've installed Wwise Launcher version 2016.11.24.538 and Unity version 5.5.0f3, and used the launcher to install Wwise Editor version 2016.2.0.5972. If I make a blank Unity project, then go to the "UNITY" tab of the Wwise Launcher and click "Integrate Wwise into Project...", it fails.

Here is the relevant part of the log:

2016-12-12T06:50:42.651Z: Game integration: Pushing progress: Executing Unity to complete the installation. This may take a few minutes, please wait... 93%.
2016-12-12T06:50:42.655Z: Game integration: Running setup in path C:\Users\dunca_000\Documents\TestWwiseProject using Unity executable: C:\Program Files\Unity\Editor\Unity.exe

Assertion failed on expression: 'pos < this->m_num_bits'

0x000000014149A044 (Unity) EditorUserBuildSettings::SetActiveBuildTarget
0x0000000141483487 (Unity) Application::InitializeProject

This exact crash happens no matter what kind of Unity project I try to integrate or upgrade. Is this issue affecting anyone else? I reinstalled Unity and Wwise just before testing this in order to remove as many variables as possible.

Thanks,
-Duncan

We are also reproducing. We are currently investigating a solution.
Thank you for the quick response, please let me know once there is an ETA on a fix.
The ETA is December 13th. 2016

Launcher version 2016.12.13.546 has been released, which fixes compatibility issues with Unity 5.5.0f3.

Please note however that Wwise is still incompatible with Windows Store extension (MetroSupport).

The Launcher will work with other platforms: Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, tvOS, Xbox One, PSVita, PS4.

Thanks for the quick update! Unfortunately, even after updating my Wwise Launcher to the latest version, a Wwise integration on a fresh Unity project hangs indefinitely on the final step:
"Executing Unity to complete the installation. This may take a few minutes, please wait..."
With the last lines in logRunSetup.txt being:
Registered platform support modules in: 0.0372342s.
Native extension for OSXStandalone target not found
Native extension for WindowsStandalone target not found
Native extension for LinuxStandalone target not found
Native extension for Metro target not found
Native extension for iOS target not found
Native extension for Android target not found

This hangs no matter how long I leave it. Are there any other steps I can try in order to get the latest Launcher and Unity versions working?

Thanks,
-Duncan
Disregard that last comment - it appears that the new Launcher works on a fresh computer, so there are still some gremlins breaking the integration on the old computer. I'll let you know if I can identify the difference.

Thanks,
-Duncan
Hi! I was just wondering what was the cause of the issue? We're seeing something similar and are having trouble tracking down the cause. Any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated. :)
Have you tried deleting this folder:
C:\Program Files\Unity\Editor\Data\PlaybackEngines\MetroSupport

more info here:

Great! That helped. Thanks a lot :)
I have the same problem now, Could you solve it?
