Can I copy and paste a set of custom cues from one music segment to another?

+1 vote
Due to inaccurate BPM timing in a song I'm using for a game, I am contemplating setting up custom cues every 2 bars on the actual beats of the song in the music segment to guarantee that stingers and transitions happen perfectly on beat instead of using the Wwise grid where inaccuracies and drift will occur due to the song not staying on grid.

So my question is, can I copy and paste a set of custom cues from one music segment to another?

The song is broken out into multiple submixes, each of which needs to be in a separate music segment and I need to maintain perfect custom cue timing for each submix.

There is no way to copy the custom cues from one segment to another directly inside Wwise.

However, it is possible to do it by manipulating the XML of the of the Work Unit containing the segment.

  • Open the Work Unit in a text editor (Notepad++)
  • Search and copy the MusicCue blocks you want to copy
  • Paste the them inside the CueList of the destination segment
  • Re-load the project

Note: You will get conflicting ID message when opening the project.  That is OK, they will be fixed automatically.

Or you could copy/duplicate the segment, and then replace the audio track.
