Hi there

I'm an audio producer for podcasts / radio. Just starting out doing sound design for video games and thought I'd learn Wwise. I'm having a problem right at the start.

I'm using the source editor to edit the source audio, but those changes are not being recognised when I drag the corresponding audio file into an event.

For example I am using the source editor to select only the part of the sound I want to play. This works when I play it back in the transport control, but when I drag it into an event and play that event in the transport control, it still plays the full sound file, and not just the part I selected.

If I do get it to work, then when I drag the event into the mixer as part of a session, then it automatically goes back to playing the full sound file, and not selected part of the file that is associated with the event. If i then go back to the event, the event now also plays the full source file and not the selected part of it that it had been playing prior to being dragged into a session.

Please help as I'd like to get past lesson 2 before I lose my mind.

I'm having the same issue and I haven't been able to fix it.

Sometimes it helps when pressing the "Original" button in Transport Control. This seems to update the changes made in Source Editor. Usually it isn't necessary to do that. But when a sound object was edited in Source Editor, then un-check the "Inclusion" checkmark of that sound in Project Explorer, keep working on other objects. Then after a while re-enable the Inclusion checkmark again. Now it could be that you hear the full length of the sound file, although your changes in Source Editor are still visible. Hitting the "Original" button will update the changes again. Your case seems slightly different, but anyway perhaps it helps.
