What's New in 2014.1.6?

2014.1.6 is a patch release. The following sections list and describe the changes to Wwise between version 2014.1.5 and version 2014.1.6.

Note:
The 2014.1.6 patch release will not be available until shortly after the release of 2015.1.

Platform SDK changes

  • PS Vita: Updated to SDK 3.500
  • Wii U: Updated to SDK 2.12.13

Behavior Changes

  • WG-27553 Audio thread is now forbidden to run on Xbox One's logical core 6.

Bug Fixes

  • WG-26489 Fixed: Changing LPF or HPF value rapidly can result in filter stuck in a bypassed state.
  • WG-26954 Fixed: Glitches in LPF or HPF when reverting bypass.
  • WG-27055 Fixed: Setting the channel configuration when initializing Wwise on the PS4 will not override what has been automatically detected.
  • WG-27279 Console speaker configuration now correctly auto-detected for Xbox One and Xbox 360.
  • WG-27397 Fixed: Cannot post MIDI note-on and note-off on same note in same frame with envelope on source plug-in.
  • WG-27404 Fixed: Hang with multi-channel streamed XMA sounds on Xbox One.
  • WG-27421 Fixed: The relative position of an unregistered game object is not updated when the listener's position changes.
  • WG-27430 Fixed: Vorbis Decoder error; when seeking in first stream block, streaming, and I/O blocksize < 1 with cache enabled, starvation occurs.
  • WG-27446 Fixed: Severe performance issue when resizing the Performance Monitor too small.
  • WG-27490 Fixed: LFE volume doubles when downmixed offline from 6-7.1 to 5.1.
  • WG-27421 Fixed: The relative position of an unregistered game object is not updated when the listener's position changes.
  • WG-27449 Fixed: (Mac) Channel configuration not switching to 5.1/7.1 when changing Audio MIDI Preferences
  • WG-27514 (iOS) Reduced the frequency of CheckIfOtherAppAudioPlaying (giving a small performance improvement).
  • WG-27572 iZotope Trashbox effect now supports media relocation properly.
  • WG-27576 Fixed: Race condition leading to crash or hang when quitting game on Wii U.
  • WG-27578 Fixed: AkAutoAXLock is optimized-out on Wii U.
  • WG-27588 Fixed: Motion can be sent to Aux Bus, resulting in clicks and loud noises.
  • WG-27597 Fixed: Unusual increase of volume after using auto-ducking.
  • WG-27655 Fixed: (Mac) Surround and Back channels are coming out from the wrong speakers.
  • WG-27690 Fixed: UnloadBank fails to stop source plug-in using media.
  • WG-27742 Fixed: Harmonizer effect crash in low memory condition.
  • WG-27780 Fixed: GetSourceStreamBuffering() sometimes returns inaccurate results for paused sounds.
  • WG-27855 Fixed: Inconsistent bus connection count after a memory allocation failure.
  • WG-27886 Fixed: Invalid file size returned from low-level I/O fails silently, resulting in assertion failures in some codecs.
  • WG-28041 Fixed: Volume ramps on master bus are twice as slow as expected, causing discontinuities.
