Effect Plug-in Editor

The Effect Editor contains a series of properties associated with the Effect instances that are applied to your object or bus. It is contextual, which means that it will display different properties depending on the Effect instance that you are currently editing. You can modify many of the properties in real time and map them to Game Parameters using RTPCs.

Wwise comes with multiple Effects, detailed in the Effect Plug-ins chapter. With Wwise's open architecture, however, you can also easily create and integrate your own Effect plug-ins. To get information about the properties for each Effect, click the Help button in the Effect Editor.

[Note] Note

McDSP FutzBox Lo-Fi Distortion, McDSP ML1 Mastering Limiter, and Wwise Convolution Reverb are available in all versions of Wwise; however, they require a separate license unless they were purchased as part of the Wwise Power Pack bundle, and they must be added as Additional Plug-ins within the Launcher.

[Note] Note

Not all Effects are necessarily available on all platforms.

Effect Plug-in Editor Tabs

The Effect Plug-in editor has three tabs:

  • Effect Settings: The primary properties of the loaded Effect, as detailed in the plug-in's documentation.

  • RTPC: Standard RTPC controls applicable to the Effect in the same manner as on any audio object. See more details in the RTPC Tab page of the Audio Tab's documentation.

  • States: Standard State controls applicable to the Effect in the same manner as on any audio object. See more details in the States Tab: Actor-Mixer Objects page of the Audio Tab's documentation.
