Room coupling between identical reverb zones

If I have two adjacent rooms with identical reverbs, and I enable 'Use game-defined sends' on the reverb bus to activate 'Room Coupling' I am getting some unpleasent feedback/artefact-like sounds on the reverb bus. I'm effectively sending a reverb into itself. Is there any advice for this? There are also pleasent effects so I would like to use this feature
