Windows 11 - error while activating license, wmic missing

0 votes

Seems that WWise license manager relies on wmic utility, which has been deprecated in Windows 10 and has been removed from latest Windows 11 build. Selecting license in launcher fails with:

Error: Command failed: wmic process get ExecutablePath 'wmic' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Is there a workaround for this?

You can also activate a license by using Wwise's license manager directly:

We are aware of this issue and are working towards a fix for this and other related Windows 11 issues as part an upcoming update.

Many thanks for the info. Just for the record if someone else hit this problem. In the latest Win11 dev builds, wmic can be installed again as an optional windows feature.
