Wwise 2021 Authoring Tool desperately needs a full-functioning Attenuation Preview Tool

This would be almost identical to the current Attenuation Preview, EXCEPT that the listener should be forward facing in the center of the circle, and the preview sound emitter should pan around the listener while respecting ALL attenuation settings and curves!  Several PREVIEW settings should be available which do not change the actual sound settings.

  • The user would select the sound.
  • A loop option should be included for PREVIEWING one-shot sounds.
  • The loop option should have a "repeat rate" setting.
  • There should be settings to enable and choose PREVIEW Aux Send effects (Game-defined and User-defined).
  • The mouse would move the sound emitter around the listener, changing the azimuth while also setting the distance.
  • Holding a modifier key such as Ctrl or Shift while moving the mouse, or moving the mousewheel should change the height setting.
  • The user should SEE the values changing in real time, according to the curves set for the sound in the Attenuation Editor.
  • The Main mix meters should reflect the volume and position of the sound, including an Ambisonics mix.
  • The user should HEAR the sound changing in real time, according to the curves set for the sound in the Attenuation Editor.
  • In addition to hearing the volume, filters, spread, and focus changing, the user should hear the selected PREVIEW reverb changing as well.
  • Ideally the user can specify several effects on the Aux Busses for PREVIEWING without affecting actual game settings.
  • Ideally the user can preview Aux Bus attenuation settings as well.
  • When Aux Bus Attenuation Curves have been correctly set, the reverb should surround the listener at zero distance, and the spread should collapse to mono and pan around when far away.
  • An option to rotate the sound or buss with respect to the forward-facing listener should also be available.  Perhaps another modifier key, or the mouse wheel..
  • Ideally the user could specify RTPC values and switch states as well.
  • Ideally the user can save the preview tool settings.
  • Basically, all the things you would expect to do and hear in your game, without needing a game.
  • The current Attenuation Preview and Soundcaster are close.  We just need it all together in one full-featured, easy-to-access preview tool that includes reverbs.
