I have students running on Mac with the macOS Monterey reporting that they can't hear any sound from the game when running version 2021.1.10.7883.

They see meters running if connected profiling, but don't hear it.

This is after just installing cube and wwise for the first time in the Wwise 101 course, before purposely deleting soundbanks.

When they installed 2019 and played the cube with the shotgun, they hear the sound fine.

Is there an issue with Cube and Wwise 2021 on macOS Monterey?

I could not reproduce this issue on either an Intel or Apple Silicon mac when running from the Wwise Launcher's sample tab.

Make sure the latest version of SDL2 is installed (https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL/releases/download/release-2.24.0/SDL2-2.24.0.dmg, extract to /Library/Frameworks), and double check sound settings.

If all fails, by connecting to the game using the Wwise Authoring application, you can have a look at the Capture Log from the Profiler layout to see if any errors are logged.
