This question is essentially in 2 parts, but both relate to the audio options available to the user from within the settings/options menu.

The first relates to Speaker Configuration/Audio Output, the second is regarding user selectable mix presets, both of which are often seen in the Audio Options menu of most AA-AAA titles.

Although always slightly different, most titles offer a multitude of Speaker/Output settings, such as Headphones, Home Theatre, Hi-Fi, 5.1, 7.1 etc. So when a user selects one of these options, are they essentially overriding the Main Mix Channel Configuration setting? So for instance, if a user has a stereo hi-fi speaker setup, and selects a "Stereo" option, is the code then forcing the Wwise output to 2.0 Speaker Panning? Alternatively if they select a "Headphones" option, I'm assuming the output is being set to 2.0 Headphone Panning etc etc.

And when it comes to the different Mix options many games offer, what's the "usual" way to go about implementing that in Wwise? I've seen many options such as "Studio Reference, Midnight Mode, Dynamic" etc. I'm guessing that "Studio Reference" in this context would be the audio department's default mix? Midnight Mode I'm assuming is boosting dialogue? I've also seen a few games with a Mono mode. Not quite sure why that would be useful, unless it's for accessibility reasons?
To achieve these different mixes are people using plugins on the main output with states?

Any comments are much appreciated.
