Hello,
We do not recommend using Wwise 2022.1.0 for any of the certifications, at this moment.
https://www.audiokinetic.com/en/courses/wwise101/?source=wwise101&id=installing_wwise#read
Here are a few reasons why...
- There are only minor differences. So if you learn to use Wwise 2021.1, you'll certainly be able to use Wwise 2022.1. If there are any differences, you'll have no problem understanding how to use it in a newer MAJOR version. It's all about better understanding how game audio works.
- The course documentation will be 100% accurate with your own project if you use the version specified in the course. So no moved properties or views.
- You'll have better chances of getting help when stuck. If you are using a newer MAJOR version of Wwise, we (and other students) will have a lot harder helping you, as we're all using a different version for the course content.
- You'll need to upgrade the Wwise projects yourself, and for a beginner, you might not know how to fix the errors and so on.
I hope this illustrates how "problematic" it might be to use a different Major version than specified in the course content.
Long story short, you are NOT going to miss anything by NOT using the newest Wwise version.
Good luck with the course!
