Does anyone have any idea of this issue. I have installed both Wwise and Wise launcher but when i try to launch Cube through the launcher, it says that Wwise is not installed. Message:  "First, install Wwise on your system"

Can anyone help please.

Hi Mike,

I have this issue too. I submitted a ticket to Audiokinetic and still have not had a reply back. I installed Wwise launcher and Wwise from the administrator account on my machine. I can launch Wwise + Cube from the admin account just fine, but when I run the Wwise launcher from my standard user account I get the error: "Wwise is not installed. First, install Wwise on your system".

Normally a program should be installed for all users, or there should be an option for that. Wwise launcher is clearly installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\Audiokinetic but the Audiokinetic launcher doesn't recognize it from other user accounts. It would be greatly appreciated if someone at Audiokinetic could help with this so we can keep learning.
Hi Matt, we're working on MAC but this is exactly the same issue we are having at our university.  As you, when installed on the administrator account all works fine but when a student logs in, we get the same issue.  Audiokinetic/ Bertille Tayoung, can you help with this? I start the Game audio module in 2 weeks time and am starting to get a little worried.

Mike
Also facing this issue on Macs OSX. An update/fix would be extremely useful, we can launch Wwise directly outside the launcher, as we're not able to do integrations, launch cube and other samples etc
Apologies, I should have added as comment rather than answer.
Has anyone managed to resolve this issue?

Hello Mike,

Thank you for bringing our attention to this issue. Wwise installations created by on OS user will indeed be inaccessible by other users. On Windows, it's possible to add these installations to the second user's Launcher through the "Locate local copy of Wwise" feature. Unfortunately, this feature is not currently available on Mac. We are working on providing this feature for Mac in one of the future updates.

In the meantime, a possible workaround is to manually copy over the list of available installs from one user to the other. This file will be at ~/Library/Application Support/WwiseLauncher/Json/knownInstalls.json for the OS user that created the installation.

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any further questions,

@Oleksandr Locate local copy of Wwise does not work. When I click locate local copy and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Audiokinetic\Wwise 2021.1.11.7933\Authoring\x64\Release\bin and select Wwise.exe nothing happens.
~/Library/Application Support/WwiseLauncher/Json/knownInstalls.json

Could you please provide the full address where this located?
Hi Mike, this is a very big issue for Educational Institutions.

Our setup is:
- Computer: iMac (24" - M1 Chip)
- OS: macOS Monterrey 12.5.1
- Audiokinetic Launcher version: 2022.2.2
- Wwise version: 2022.1.0.8070
- Unity Version: 2021.3.10f1

We are using Wwise for many of our courses, and since a year, I'm not sure what version of the Launcher it was, we are experiencing this issue.
Yesterday this caused also issues in realising the Wwise Unity Integration. Although we linked the right SDK path when doing the integration, the Wwise launcher will not allow to get the integration done. No Error message come up, so I'm not 100% sure what is the issue.

A note on your comment.
There is no path in my computer as ~/Library/Application Support/WwiseLauncher/Json/knownInstalls.json
I don't have this directory at all: ~/Library/Application Support/WwiseLauncher/
I've a directory for Wwise: /Library/Application Support/Audiokinetic/
@Matt

The preferred solution on Windows is "Locate local copy". Please make sure that your OS user has read/write access to the folder/files that you're trying to add. If that doesn't solve your problem, please submit a bug report.

If you'd like to try the workaround anyway, the file in questing resides in Application Data on Windows: C://Users/%username%/AppData/Roaming/WwiseLauncher/Json/knownInstalls.js

@Balandino
Please note that the path in question lies in the user home directory (~/) as opposed to the filesystem root (/). The "Library" directory in the user home is hidden, so if you can't see it please try to enable display of hidden files with the shortcut Cmd+Shift+.
