Hi there,

Despite having nothing much changed to our project recently, it has started to run really slow in the OSX authoring tool. Furthermore, and this is a real problem, we can not export any sound banks anymore. When we start generating sound banks, Wwise hangs for a very long time. When it says it's completed the operation no sound banks have actually been generated and to add to that an "out of memory" dialog appears:

This is a pretty big project with over 9 gigs of source material, but we haven't encountered problems like these until recently.

We wonder what could have gone wrong and how we can fix it.

Thanks in advance for your answer,

-Joni

PS: We'd be happy to provide our project files if necessary, maybe you guys can find the problem quickly. We absolutely don't know where to start looking.

We are still having this issue. Can someone from the Audiokinetic team look into this?

Unfortunately, it's sounding like you may be bumping up against the 32-bit limitation of our MacOSX Authoring tool.  When things start getting too big with the Mac Authoring Tool, it can definitely cause some problems.  Do you have any identifiable areas where you can trim the project?  Any extraneous sound files being accessed and not really used?

In theory it would be possible to split some soundbanks up in smaller pieces (especially our music bank is getting quite large). However, this would be a lot of work. I can imagine other people running into the same problem at some point. Is there going to be a 64bit version of the OSX Authoring Tool anytime soon?
And now it seems sorted, and wasn't a 32-bit issue at all.  Hope things continue to work smoothly, Yuri!
