It would be very useful to be able to select a sound in the capture log while profiling and play it immediately with a key press, perhaps spacebar, just to hear what it is. On larger projects we have thousands of assets, and this would allow us to quickly hear what sound we're looking at in the capture log. The preview would by pass any mix states, game states, etc., and just give us an up-close 2D preview of the sound. The idea is to be able to quickly hear what the sound is to sort it out from the chaos.

Agreed!
A “debug audition” option that bypasses all mix states and game states and simply allows us to hover, play, and isolate a sound would be fantastic. It would also be nice not to have it show up in profiler and be purely a debug playback.
Current options require selecting and playing each sound, but game states and mix states can break that from working to hear the sound. You can also select sound, right click or ctrl+shift+# to show it, then play it, but that’s taking away from the focus of profiling and also cumbersome.
