Using the version of Wwise used in the course (2021.1), I went through Lesson 7 twice and had the same issue of the Teleporter sound loopping at full volume the entire time I ran through the level, and even after I switched worlds to DCP_the_core. I even went as far as to completely uninstall Wwise and the course materials, redownload and reinstall everything, start directly from Lesson 7, and the same issue persists. I'm also hitting playback limits on on the footsteps even after going through all the steps to optimize the audio. It's really annoying to spend the time going through this course and the last lesson is giving me issues that don't make sense to me.

This happened to me too! It seems to be something missed by the course creators. Here's how I fixed it:

1. Click on: Project Explorer > Audio > Actor-Mixer Hierarchy > Default Work Unit > Items > Teleporter

2. In the Property Editor (right side), in the "Positioning" tab, click "Override Parent"

3. In the same editor, under "Attenuation", click the three stacked dots and then "browse"

4. Select Attenuations > My Cube > Object Attenuation

Should be good to go! :)
