Wwise 4.8.3 Integration

0 votes
Hello,

Our team would like to make use of the Substance plugin that is currently only available for Unreal 4.8.3 -- is there any ETA on Wwise integration for versions higher than 4.8.1?

Alternatively, if there is a current solution that would allow integration of both Substance and Wwise in a single project, that would be appreciated.

Thanks for your time,

I'm pretty sure you can just use the one that is on there right now. In past versions I had like a .4 engine and a .3 Wwise and everything still worked, Substance plug-ins included.

Thanks for the reply! Soon after asking this question I had the same thought, and downloaded the 4.8.3 source and latest Wwise integration. As per usual I copy-replaced the Wwise files into the 4.8.3 folder and went through the procedures, but then noticed that when I built and ran the editor afterwards the version number in the loading screen had changed to Unreal Editor 4.8.1. "About Unreal Editor" reads "Version: 4.8.1+++depot+UE4-Releases+4.8"

Is there another way to download *only* the files that the Wwise integration needs? Downloading the github zip for the Wwise integration seemingly also includes the source for 4.8.1.

Edit: Currently attempting to copy the Wwise files on top of 4.8.3 over again, this time not replacing anything.
That I am not sure of, just because Wwise takes up so much of the engine. Yet I did notice what you were saying with the name change back to .1 etc, I would still test putting substance in it won't hurt. Last I checked it still worked but that was awhile ago.
Thanks for the suggestion. Just tried that for the 4.8.3 version that had the name change.

Downloaded the 4.8 UE4 plugin for Substance @ https://www.allegorithmic.com/substance-ue4, then proceeded to create the Plugins directory inside my project folder and place Substance inside. Got this message upon loading the engine: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/63295392/Atmos/substanceError.png
If you have tried rebuilding the engine, that is about the end of my suggestions. Sorry I can't help anymore :(
