Time Scale Audio in Unreal

0 votes
Hello,

I'm working on a feature for our game that changes the global playback rate for the entire experience (using unreal's global time dilation feature) and I'd like the audio playback rate to change as well. Is there any way to do that? I'm totally new to WWise so please go easy on me. :-)

Thanks in advance.

Howdy Erin,

So I have a question when you say play back rate do you mean that you want to objects to play slower/faster depending on the rate which you set? If so are you OK with the pitch bending/slowing? If the answer to the last question is yes, then use an RTPC to take control of the pitch of the sounds. Additionally you would probably want a LPF RTPC as well.

Thanks a lot for the reply! I'll give that a shot.
Hi,

May I check if there is any global way to scale the time? In unreal, if we speed up the whole game with time dilation, ideally we would like the sound to be stretch/compress as well. The pitch changes is not an issue for us.
