Debugging code will freeze Unity in RTPC call

I have a Unity project with Wwise integrated, we use RTPC's amongst other things. Everytime I launch the debugger and it hit's a breakpoint, after I continue code execution Unity will never unfreeze.

We're on Wwise 2016.1.0.5775, Unity 5.4.1f1, VS 2015.
