"Unity Installation: Enter Unity Executable" Explaination

+1 vote
According to the documentation the Wwise Launcher in version 2016.2.1.5995.409 should handle the entire integration process.

While trying to integrate Unity with Wwise, the launcher asks for a "valid Unity executable." I am running Wwise on a Mac (OS X El Capitan 10.11.4) and am unsure exactly how to access the executable file or which executable file it is looking for.

As a complete beginner with Wwise I don't know what this is and can find no reference of this anywhere in the documentation.

Can anyone offer me any guidance?

Kind regards

Please verify that the version of Unity that is installed on your computer matches the version of Unity that was used to create the project. The Wwise Launcher is looking for a matching version of Unity to perform the integration installation.

Note that the option to browse for a specific Unity executable is currently broken on Mac OS X. This will be fixed in the upcoming weeks with the release of a new version of the Launcher.

Thank you, this explains why I have been having so much trouble. Would you recommend that I install a previous version of Wwise that requires me to import the integration package into Unity manually? Or are there problems with this method also?
It would work, but you would end up with the same problem when you want to migrate to a newer version of the integration. Nevertheless, it may be a good workaround until a new version of the Launcher is released.

A better solution would be to install a Unity a version that matches your project.
The version of Unity I have matches the version that the project was created in (5.4.0f3), but the launcher still gets stuck on the "Please Select Valid Unity Executable" option.

Are there any software updates that I have missed? Or is there something simple that I should be doing before attempting integration?
I had the exact same problem. found this answer in this thread:
https://www.audiokinetic.com/qa/3101/select-executable-unity-file-on-mac?show=3101#q3101

"It looks like the browsing has some issues in the latest launcher version, our devs are looking into that to fix this in the next Launcher version, thanks for reporting the issue ! There's actually a workaround in order to set the path to your Unity.app: just type it manually in the " browse for executable " field. Your path should in theory be /Applications/Unity/Unity.app
From there the launcher should recognize your .app and your Unity version so that you can carry on with the installation.
Hope this helps !"
Now this isn't even working. This is so incredibly frustrating. I can't integrate my Unity projects now. Audiokinetic doesn't supply the integration package as an importable unity package now? Is my only option to integrate via the launcher? I can't even find instructions for how to integrate using the offline files.
I am also having this trouble.  I have been out of luck for months.  And this is my JOB so I have been less productive for months now
Same here. Anyone found a workaround?
I'm having this issue as well, typing the location manually does nothing. It was working perfectly last week and now I open the launcher and it tells me to 'upgrade wwise in project' but won't accept the Unity app.

Neither of my Unity or Wwise versions have been changed.

Unity version 2017.3.0f3
Wwise version 2017.2.2.6553

Can anyone help, my project deadling is in 2 weeks :'(
