I'm just starting on a new game project, and I was watching a youtube tutorial recently about integrating Wwise into a Unity project. She said that it is not advised to only have the Wwise project in the assets folder, and said to copy it into the root folder of your Unity project. Is this necessary? Could I just leave it in the assets folder? I believe the video was made a couple years ago, so would this still be applicable with the most recent versions of Wwise/Unity?

I have the same exact question. It seems they have changed the way integration works. I believe you must now use the Wwise launcher but I haven't been able to get any of my soundbanks to generate yet. : (
