Creating shareset from "define custom" effect

0 votes
Is there any way to make a new shareset effect from the settings specified in an effect with "define custom" settings? In other words, if I have an effect on a bus that I set up as a custom effect, and now I want to put that effect on another bus, is there some way I can make that custom effect a shareset effect and assign it to the other bus without having to create a new effect and assign the same settings as it has on the other bus I created the custom effect on in the first place?

Yes, there is a trick for that, by using the presets.

  • Open the custom effect in the Effect Editor
  • Click the Effect Editor titlebar button called Save Preset (second button from left)
  • Name the preset, press OK
  • In Project Explorer, go to ShareSets tab, Effects section
  • Create a new effect object of the type you created the preset
  • Open the newly created effect in Effect Editor
  • Click the Effect Editor titlebar button Load Preset (first button from left)
  • Select the preset you created previously, and press OK
