Workgroup - Perforce

I am setting the project settings to use perforce and entering my information.

After closing the software and opening again the settings are lost.

Where is this configuration stored? Is it in the project folder?

Is this because it might be checked into perforce and locked? And no error is being reported it can not be saved?
