Wwise Meter on a bus causing the bus to go silent?

I'm having this weird issue where if I put the Wwise Meter plugin on a particular bus, everything going through that bus is silent (the meter also shows no levels). I have the meter on a different bus as well, but that bus behaves normally. In the mixer layout, both busses show that audio is going through either way. Any ideas at all to what might be happening are welcome
