How to create a new WorkUnit using waapi

0 votes
Hi I am trying to figure out how to create a new WorkUnit using the WAAPI for an automated asset import process.

Here is an example of what I am trying to send,

{
    'parent': "\\Actor-Mixer Hierarchy\\",
    'type': "WorkUnit",
    'name': "TestWorkUnit",
}

But I just get the response message "type is not supported".

How am I supposed to make new WorkUnits? I haven't been able to figure it out from the documentation available.

Creation of work units is currently not supported. This is mainly because creation of work units requires Source Control (perforce/svn) operations, which we do not support in WAAPI yet. You would need to create the files manually.

Support for creation of workunit has been added to 2018.1.2:
https://www.audiokinetic.com/library/2018.1.2_6762/?source=SDK&id=releasenotes.html

  • WG-38159 (WAAPI) Added support for Work Unit creation either directly through ak.wwise.core.object.create or as a parent of a sound object through ak.wwise.core.audio.import and ak.wwise.core.audio.importTabDelimited.

Thank you Bernard. Not the answer I had hoped for but I appreciate the quick response!
Hi, is this still the case?  I'm having an issue with trying to create a WorkUnit object via WAAPI and I don't get a response.  With version 2017.2.5.
You are right, I updated the answer. It's been added with 2018.1.2.
