How Is the Order of Sequence Step Audio Playback Determined?

0 votes

I'm having an issue with trying to create an interactive music playlist. What I want to do is create a music segment with 5 loops with different drum patterns for every loop, basic stuff. To this effect I have created sequence step tracks with 5 subtracts. When I press play to listen to them the subtracts don't play in any predictable order, they seem to be picked randomly. This is made obvious by the fact that there are not supposed to be any drums at all on the first loop. Is there some place where I have to indicate the order in which I would like the sub tracks played? My intuition tells me they should play in order, from the first to the last.

Some context, at this point in the project I have no states or triggers or any game nonsense to confuse the issue.

Hey Liam

"Sequence step" does not reset between plays. It will continue with the next subtrack in the sequence each time you press play, so that explains why the empty track isn't necessarily played first each time.
If you're certain that the selection is completely random, then something fishy is going on. The setup in your screenshot seems correct.

Kind Regards
