Unwanted distortion when playing back sound through audio interface

Hello,

I just downloaded Wwise 2021 and I've been getting a horrendous distortion (it sounds like a feedback loop) when playing audio in the authoring software through my audio interface.

The distortion does not happen at all if I switch my Authoring Audio Preferences to play back sound through my laptop speakers or when sounds are implemented in Unity.

It also goes away if I change my Main Mix Channel Configuration to Use AudioDevice ShareSet, but then I only get sound in my left speaker.

Just checked back in Wwise 2019 and this doesn't happen at all with that version.

Regarding OS, I'm on MacOS Mojave.
