Weird sample rate glitch in low frequencies?

+1 vote
Hi there,

I'm getting a strange glitch on any sample I import into wwise 2021.1.1.7601 - anything in the sub/low regions sounds like it has a reduced sample rate effect on it, like there's a high frequency pulse on it.

I've imported the exact same sound into wwise 2019.1.11.7296 and it sounds fine.

I've been using the default conversion settings on each version but the 2021.1.1.7601 only has this problem which means it's a wwise problem. I've played around with the conversion settings, tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no luck.

The sounds play fine in any other piece of software but that.

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and can suggest a fix?

Thanks so much for your time!

Steve

Hey! Yep, having the exact same thing, I hear it in the Wwise editor (even when playing the original) and in Unreal, no matter if I use 44 or 48 khz samples. Wwise 2019 sounds fine, and any other software just like you said.

The only thing that made it go away is setting my soundcard to 48 khz, so I thought it was just my machine locally but I noticed in a game capture from a colleague that it's on his computer too just playing the game.

Hi Steve and Christian,

Thank you both for letting us know.

Fortunately, we're already aware of the problem and working on a fix. Look for WG-55065 in upcoming Release Notes.
In the meantime, try forcing your soundcard/audio driver to use 48kHz.
