Loading the data from a previous remote capture session

In Wwise, you can open a remote capture session that was previously saved as a PROF file at any time. When you open the file, Wwise fills all views of the Profiler, Voice Profiler, and Game Object Profiler layouts with the data from the end of the previous capture session. You can then further analyze the audio in your game.

There are two ways to load the data: you can drag and drop files from the file system (Windows File Explorer or macOS Finder) or load the data from the Remote Connections dialog. The following procedures describe both methods

[Note]Note

If you want to load data from multiple capture sessions, you must use the Remote Connections dialog. If you use the drag-and-drop method, you can only load data from a single file at a time.

To load capture session data by dragging and dropping a file:

  1. Switch to the Profiler layout by doing one of the following:

    • From the menu bar, click Layouts > Profiler.

    • Press F6.

  2. Drag and drop one PROF file from the file system (Windows File Explorer, or macOS Finder) to the Capture Log view.

All of the data collected in the capture session is loaded into the views of the Profiler, Voice Profiler, and Game Object Profiler layouts.

To load capture session data from the Remote Connections dialog:

  1. From the toolbar, click Connect to Remote Platform .

    The Remote Connections dialog opens.

  2. Click Connect To File.

  3. Select one PROF file and click Open.

All the data collected in the capture session is loaded into the views of the Profiler, Voice Profiler, and Game Object Profiler layouts.

To compute statistics from multiple profiling sessions

  1. Open the Profiler Statistics View from the View menu.

  2. From the toolbar, click the Connect to Remote Platform button.

    The Remote Connections dialog opens.

  3. Click the Connect To File button.

  4. Select as many PROF files as you need and click Open.

All the data collected in the selected capture sessions is processed and the resulting statistics are presented in the Profiling Statistics view.
