WAV markers in Wwise ?

0 votes
Hello there, I'm looking at the WwiseDemoScene in Unity, and especially at the subtitle example. I understand that you have a wav file with markers that allow you to change the subtitles everytime you receive a marker callback. My question is : how do you create those markers? And is it possible to visualize them in Wwise?

Thanks !

Hi! You can't mark wav's directly in Wwise. You have to put the mark using SoundForge. Wwise can read those. They mention It in the video tutorials, but I can't remember where. Hope It helps!

Thanks ! Yes it sure does. Is there a way of visualizing them in Wwise, even if you can't edit them?

You can't edit them in Wwise.  Most WAV editing software allow you to edit them, including:

  • Soundforge
  • Audacity
  • Wavosaur (free)

You can however visualize them with Wwise Wav Viewer. Launch from the start Menu.  Make sure the Show Markers in the View menu is activated.

You can also add Wwise Wav Viewer to the list of External Editors:
