UE 4 SoundBank generation failed: could not open the Wwise SoundBank definition file.

0 votes

As I was attempting to update my soundbanks inside of UE 4 I was given this message. SoundBank generation failed: could not open the Wwise SoundBank definition file. Now I have generated all my banks in the normal manner via Wwise and this is the first time this has happened to me. I also tried to redirect the wwise integration plugin to the folder but Could not find a way to do it. without uninstalling the integration.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello Timmy,

Are you using Perforce? If so, make sure you have checked out the necessary Wwise folders in Perforce, otherwise you won't be able to modify anything in them.

This was the issue! Thank you.
Make sure it includes the TempDefinitionFile.txt
Hi, I'm experiencing the same issue and have checked out every file in wwise and unreal and still am unable to generate soundbanks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Which are the necessary folders that need checking out?
I've the same issue. I'm not able to generate soundbank because of TempDefinitionFile.txt....Oh, the support for Unreal Engine is so bad !
