Wwise Crash MacBook Pro - Wwise2019 and Wine

0 votes
So I installed Wwise on my MacBook Pro to work remotely on a project and installed the newest version. However, whenever I try to open the project in the Wwise Launcher, it crashes. It also says that "This can be caused by a problem in Wwise2019, or a deficiency in Wine, the compatibility layer which is being used to run Wwise2019. Contact the makers of Wwise2019 for help." What does this mean? And why is it Wwise2019? It says that I have installed the newest version in the Launcher. Also when I manage to open the project after 10 tries or so, the UI of the software looks extremely pixelated and weird.

Does anyone know what could be the reason for this? Is it supposed to be like this on Macs?

This can be caused by an incorrect configuration of the Wine environment in which Wwise runs. First of all, fill in a Bug Report using the Wwise Launcher: this will help us investigate similar issues.

Next, you can try the following steps:

Can you try to:

  • Make sure your Wwise Launcher is the latest version (you can reinstall from the website).
  • Delete the following folder: $HOME/Library/Application Support/Wwise2019
  • Retry to launch Wwise

If you have the same issue, reinstall Wwise and retry the above steps.
