Release Notes 2022.1.1.8100.2529

Each version of this integration matches a specific build of Unreal Engine. Here is what has changed in the 2022.1.1.8100.2529 release of the integration (in addition to upgrading to the new Unreal build).

Note:
This integration does not support experimental Unreal Engine features.
Note:
This integration was compiled against Unreal Engine version 4.27, and 5.0. It was tested against Unreal Engine 5.0. Any major Unreal Engine version more recent than the aforementioned is not currently supported, but will be in a subsequent patch release.

For earlier versions, please refer to Previous Release Notes.

New Features

  • WG-62176 Allow changing Unreal audio routing through the settings.
  • WG-63237 Simplified option to link the Wwise plug-in module inside project modules.
  • WG-63284 Basic support of distributed builds without precompiled headers

API Changes

  • WG-63175 Created an overridable WwiseConcurrency module instead of having asynchronous operations in WwiseSoundEngine.
  • WG-63176 It's now possible to have recurring deferred concurrent operations on Game thread and synchronous to the caller.

Performance Changes

  • WG-62668 WwiseResourceLoader operations are now fully asynchronous, fixing high Task Graph usage that could cause hangs.

Miscellaneous Changes

  • WG-63238 Updated Sound Engine version detection code in Build files.

Bug Fixes

  • WG-58074 Fixed: AkAudioMixer prevents sounds from playing in Unreal 5.0 and Unreal 5.1.
  • WG-62497 Fixed: Invalid float value warning when calling SetRTPCValue() for HFDamping.
  • WG-62693 Fixed: (Spatial Audio) No warning or error message when Ak Geometry is set to Simple Collision on actor with no Simple Collision.
  • WG-62699 Fixed: (Spatial Audio) Crash with geometries that have complex edge topology.
  • WG-62902 Fixed: In the Spatial Audio Tutorial map of the Wwise Demo Game, Play_ComplexRoom has Transmission loss out of the box.
  • WG-62944 Fixed: (Spatial Audio) Unassigned Late reverb warning on some objects with Room components.
  • WG-63177 Fixed: Global callbacks don't provide the plug-in context.
  • WG-63178 Fixed: WwiseExecutionQueue doesn't use a custom thread pool.
  • WG-63324 Adding the entire Wwise module suite for Dedicated Server builds.

Fixes for Community-Reported Bugs

  • WG-52856 Fixed: Crash on editor shutdown when using Stomp Allocator.
  • WG-61296 Fixed: SoundBanks can only be generated for platforms supported by the active Unreal Editor.
  • WG-62558 Fixed: Conflict between SignedVolumeOfTriangle and the definition in BodySetup.
  • WG-62796 Fixed: "More than one ref per language" error message doesn't provide enough detail.
  • WG-62797 Fixed: Set Switch and Set State inside an Event leads to "More than one ref per language" warnings. Using them in an AkAudioEvent with optional Switch Container loading fails.
  • WG-62801 Fixed: "More than one ref per language found" message is logged while loading each Aux Bus in Editor.
  • WG-63059 Fixed: Serial size mismatch assert in server builds due to cooked data being unnecessarily serialized in Wwise assets.
