List View

The List View allows you to search, consult and edit objects in Wwise. The list of objects in the List View can be set from multiples ways:

  • Using the search field at the top of the list

  • By dragging objects from other lists in Wwise. Hold Shift when dragging to add objects instead of replacing

  • By using the Show in List View shortcut menu when right-clicking an object

  • From the Open Results in List View button in the toolbar floating search results dialog

The list view also allows to edit the properties of the objects in the list. You can choose which property or column to show by:

  • Right-clicking the list header and selecting Configure Columns OR

  • Clicking the View Settings button in the titlebar of the view

[Tip] Tip

When multiple items are selected, modifying a property (slider, combo or checkbox) will affect the whole selection and set the object's value to all other objects in selection. However, when holding the Alt key and dragging a slider, the selected objects values will be offset instead of being set to an absolute value.

[Tip] Tip

When the results of your search are displayed in the List View, you can select an entry to automatically load it into the Transport Control for immediate playback.

[Tip] Tip

Press Ctrl+Shift+F from most views in Wwise to have the current selection opened in the List View.

[Note] Note

When different types of objects appear in the list, it shows the union of the columns possible for the objects present in the list.

From the list, you can easily open an object for editing by double-clicking the entry in the results list. You can also select one or more entries in the results list and then right-click to display a series of common commands, including multi-edit, convert, and show in schematic view.

Description

Search

Type either the project element's name, the contents of the notes field, or a portion thereof. All matches are dynamically displayed in the results list as you type.

The search field allows you to perform a quick text search for one or more objects or elements within your project. The search tool tries to match the text in the Search field with any piece of text within the name or notes fields of a project element. All matches are automatically displayed in the Results list.

Reset

Clears the results. If the list is populated from a specific object list, clicking Reset will clear the list.

Results

Opens a search field where standard alphanumeric entries filter out unmatching elements from the view. Learn more in Using Tables.

Click the Close icon to the left of the search icon to close the search field and remove the filter.

[Note] Note

The searches do not include elements in collapsed nodes of the List View, Query Editor, MIDI Keymap Editor, and Reference View.

Name

The name of the object or project element that matches your search criteria.

Path

The location in the project hierarchy of the object or project element.

Type

The type of object or project element included in your results, for example, sound, bus, SoundBank, query, effect, and so on.

Other Columns

To add other columns from the object properties, right-click the column header and select Configure Columns.

Copies the search results to the Windows clipboard so you can paste them into another application.
