Device ID not recognized by the platform or is disabled.

When trying to make a call to AK::SoundEngine::AddOutput() or AK::SoundEngine::ReplaceOutput(), the provided AkOutputSettings::idDevice value was not valid. This ID is usually a hardware device identifier (HID) specific to the operating system or device drivers of the platform. Normally it is retrieved through the platform's services.

Recommended resolution steps:

  • Retry the same scenario with a Debug version, with a debugger attached to the game.

  • Check that the provided AkOutputSettings::idDevice is a valid device ID value.

  • On Windows, check that the provided AkOutputSettings::idDevice matches the value returned from a call to AK::GetDeviceID() with an IMMDevice that has a state that is currently Active or Unplugged. For example, the state of the device may have changed since it was initially enumerated.
